NORTH TEXAS — A log truck that looked like any other vehicle on a Texas highway was pulled over during a commercial vehicle inspection and found to have 23 violations including five critical out-of-service violations, Texas Department of Public Safety’s North Texas Region announced August 24.

Among the violations found were seven missing lug nuts, an inoperable brake, unsafe tire tread, leaking air lines, and inoperative brake lights. The truck was placed out of service.

“That’s why commercial vehicle inspections matter. What looks normal from a distance isn’t always safe up close,” TXDPS said.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
