This page explains how users of the American Truck Drivers mobile app can request permanent deletion of their American Truck Drivers account and associated personal data.
Delete Your Account in the App
If you are signed in to the American Truck Drivers mobile app, the preferred method is:
- Open the American Truck Drivers app.
- Open More.
- Open your Profile / Account Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Review the deletion notice.
- Confirm that you want to permanently delete your account.
Account deletion is designed to begin immediately after confirmation.
Once deletion is completed, you will no longer be able to use that American Truck Drivers account.
Request Account Deletion Without the App
If you no longer have access to the app, cannot sign in, or the Delete Account option is unavailable in your installed version, you may request account deletion by email.
Send your request to:
Subject:
Account Deletion Request
When possible, send the request from the email address associated with your American Truck Drivers account.
Include enough information for us to locate the correct account, such as:
- Your account email address; or
- Your American Truck Drivers username.
Do not send your password, authentication token, Facebook password, Google password, or other account credentials by email.
We may take reasonable steps to verify that the request comes from the account holder before completing deletion.
What We Delete
When account deletion is completed, American Truck Drivers deletes or de-identifies personal information associated with the app account from our active systems, subject to the limited retention described below.
Depending on the features you used, this may include:
- American Truck Drivers app account.
- First and last name.
- Display name.
- American Truck Drivers username.
- Email address.
- Phone number.
- Default location or profile location information.
- Custom profile photo or avatar.
- Active American Truck Drivers sessions.
- American Truck Drivers authentication tokens.
- Connections or identifiers used to associate Google, Facebook/Meta, Apple, or another supported sign-in provider with your ATD account.
- User account preferences.
- Notification preferences and app notification registration information.
- Comments, replies, Community posts, and other user-generated information where deletion is required by applicable law, platform requirements, or our policies.
- Other personal information associated with the deleted account that we are not required or permitted to retain.
Google, Facebook/Meta, Apple, and Other Third-Party Sign-In
American Truck Drivers may allow users to sign in through third-party authentication providers, including:
- Google.
- Facebook / Meta, when enabled.
- Apple, when enabled.
- Other authentication providers that may be supported in the future.
Deleting your American Truck Drivers account deletes the account and sign-in association maintained by American Truck Drivers.
It does not delete your Google, Facebook, Apple, or other third-party account.
You may separately manage your account, permissions, and connected applications through the applicable third-party provider.
Facebook / Meta Data Deletion
If you use Facebook Login with American Truck Drivers, we may receive limited information authorized through Facebook Login for the purpose of authenticating you and connecting your Facebook identity with your American Truck Drivers account.
Depending on the permissions available and authorized, this may include information such as:
- Facebook app-scoped user identifier.
- Name.
- Email address.
- Profile information made available through the authorized login process.
American Truck Drivers does not receive or store your Facebook password.
Delete Facebook-Associated Data From American Truck Drivers
You may request deletion of data associated with your Facebook Login connection in any of the following ways:
Option 1 — Delete your account inside the American Truck Drivers app
Use:
More → Profile / Account Settings → Delete Account
This removes your American Truck Drivers account and the Facebook Login association maintained by American Truck Drivers, subject to the limited retention described on this page.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
Email:
Use the subject:
Facebook Data Deletion Request
Include the email address or American Truck Drivers username associated with your account when possible.
Do not send your Facebook password.
Option 3 — Remove American Truck Drivers through Facebook
You may remove American Truck Drivers from the apps and websites connected to your Facebook account through your Facebook account settings.
Where Meta sends American Truck Drivers a supported data-deletion request through its platform integration, we will process the request in accordance with our deletion procedures and applicable requirements.
Removing the connection from Facebook prevents continued use of that Facebook connection with American Truck Drivers. It does not itself delete your Facebook account.
Third-Party Account Deletion
Deleting your American Truck Drivers account does not delete an account maintained independently by:
- Google.
- Meta / Facebook.
- Apple.
- An advertiser.
- A sponsor.
- Another website or service.
To delete information held independently by one of those services, you must use the privacy or account controls provided by that service.
User-Submitted Photos, Videos, and Other Media
American Truck Drivers allows users to submit photos, videos, and related information for possible editorial use.
A media submission may be governed by a separate Content Ownership and License Authorization or similar agreement accepted at the time of submission.
Deleting your American Truck Drivers account does not necessarily cancel rights or licenses that were validly granted to American Truck Drivers before account deletion.
Licensed Media and Authorization Records
Where permitted by applicable law and the agreement governing a submission, American Truck Drivers may retain limited records reasonably necessary to document rights previously granted to us.
These records may include:
- Original submitted media.
- Submission identifier.
- Submission metadata reasonably necessary to identify the licensed material.
- Signed release or electronic authorization.
- Agreement version.
- Date and time of authorization.
- Evidence reasonably necessary to document ownership, permission, licensing, or editorial rights.
These materials may be retained privately for legitimate editorial, contractual, legal, compliance, dispute-resolution, or rights-management purposes.
Retention of these records does not keep the deleted user account active.
Where appropriate, unnecessary account-profile information associated with retained records may be deleted or de-identified.
Published App Media After Account Deletion
Media previously approved for publication may be:
- Removed from public display.
- Made private.
- De-identified.
- Retained as permitted by the applicable authorization.
- Otherwise handled in accordance with the applicable license, our policies, and applicable law.
The underlying authorization or evidence supporting previously granted rights may be retained where reasonably necessary.
Comments and Community Content
When an account is deleted, comments, replies, Community posts, and similar user-generated content may be deleted, de-identified, or otherwise handled according to applicable law, platform requirements, moderation needs, and our policies.
For example, content that must remain for conversation integrity or moderation records may be de-identified rather than continuing to display information identifying the deleted account.
Advertising Information
Deleting an American Truck Drivers account does not necessarily delete anonymous or aggregate advertising statistics that do not identify the deleted account.
For example, American Truck Drivers may retain aggregate information such as:
- Total sponsor ad impressions.
- Total sponsor ad clicks.
- Aggregate campaign statistics.
Advertising providers such as Google may independently process advertising information under their own privacy policies and account controls.
Deleting your American Truck Drivers account does not automatically delete information independently maintained by an advertising provider.
What We May Retain
Even after account deletion, American Truck Drivers may retain limited information where reasonably necessary or permitted for purposes such as:
- Security.
- Fraud and abuse prevention.
- Legal compliance.
- Financial and business records.
- Advertising accounting and aggregate reporting.
- Dispute resolution.
- Enforcement of agreements.
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights.
- Documentation of licenses, permissions, releases, or other rights previously granted to us.
- Preventing unauthorized restoration or misuse of a deleted account.
We limit retained information to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.
Backups
Residual copies of deleted information may remain temporarily in routine:
- Backups.
- Security archives.
- Disaster-recovery systems.
These copies are removed, overwritten, or expire according to normal backup and retention cycles.
Deleted accounts are not restored to active status merely because residual backup copies temporarily exist.
How Long Does Deletion Take?
Deletion initiated directly through the mobile app is designed to begin immediately after confirmation.
For verified deletion requests submitted manually, including requests submitted by email, we aim to complete the request within 30 days.
Additional time may be required where reasonably necessary for:
- Identity verification.
- Security investigation.
- Legal compliance.
- Complex data-location issues.
- Data subject to a lawful retention requirement.
If additional time is required under applicable law, we will handle the request according to the requirements that apply.
Confirmation of a Deletion Request
Where a deletion request is submitted through a supported platform integration such as Meta/Facebook, American Truck Drivers may provide a confirmation identifier or status mechanism where required by that platform.
For requests submitted directly to American Truck Drivers, we may confirm completion or request additional verification through the contact method associated with the request.
