WORCESTER COUNTY, MARYLAND — A tractor-trailer hauling chickens overturned on Route 113 near Bishopville Road Thursday morning after colliding with another vehicle, requiring a hazmat response to pump off a saddle tank.
Maryland State Police said troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded shortly before noon. The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. No other injuries were reported. The Bishopville Volunteer Fire Department and the Worcester County Hazmat Team assisted at the scene.
The area has been cleared but northbound delays on Route 113 were expected to continue while cleanup operations wrapped up. Maryland State Police are investigating the crash.
