OGDEN, UTAH — Two semi trucks and a passenger car were involved in a crash Friday morning on Interstate 15 in Ogden after one truck slowed to avoid a construction worker who was retrieving traffic cones.
The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. on southbound I-15 near 12th Street, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
Semi Slowed Near Construction Zone
Officials said the first semi truck was approaching a construction zone when a worker was walking in the area gathering orange construction cones.
The semi slowed down to avoid hitting the worker.
A second semi truck then failed to brake in time and crashed into the first semi, causing a crash that also involved a passenger car.
Lanes Blocked During Morning Commute
UDOT said two lanes and the right shoulder were blocked after the crash.
Multiple emergency vehicles responded to the scene, and traffic was heavily delayed between Farr West and Ogden during the investigation and cleanup.
No injuries were reported.
Interstate Reopened After Cleanup
The crash was later cleared, and all lanes of southbound I-15 reopened.
