NEBRASKA — A 250-pound mineral tub that fell off a pickup truck onto Interstate 80 last week forced two semi-truck drivers off the road to avoid a collision, Nebraska State Patrol said on May 3.
The tub was one of several loaded in the bed of the pickup when it became unsecured and landed in the middle of the interstate. Both semi-truck drivers were forced off the road to avoid striking it. No injuries were reported.
Troopers tracked down the owner of the pickup through investigative work and issued a citation for failure to secure the load.
NSP used the incident as a reminder to all drivers. “Whatever you’re hauling, always make sure it’s secured properly,” troopers said.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
