ROANOKE COUNTY, VIRGINIA — A tractor-trailer and a train collided near the intersection of Garman Road and Garman Circle in Roanoke County on Saturday, blocking three roads for hours while crews worked to remove the big rig from the tracks. No injuries were reported. Police said mechanical issues caused the crash.
Garman Road, Diuguids Lane, and Barley Drive were all blocked at railroad crossings while the scene was cleared. By 5 p.m. Diuguids Lane and Barley Drive had reopened. Traffic control on Garman Road was turned over to Norfolk Southern as repairs continued. All three roads have since fully reopened.
