A truck driver’s raw, unscripted reaction to hitting a four-figure fuel bill mid-fill is making the rounds on trucker social media — and it is resonating with just about everyone behind the wheel of a big rig right now.
In the video, the driver films himself at the pump, the camera fixed on the price climbing higher and higher until it crosses $1,000. He never fills the tank all the way.
“Now, this is a first. You gotta be kidding me!” he says as the number ticks up. “And it’s not even full! Not a full tank. I’m gonna stop right there. Almost 30 years driving truck and that’s a first.”
The video comes as diesel prices have hit record highs across the country, with the national average reaching $6.51 per gallon and some drivers reporting prices as high as $12 per gallon in parts of California.
