TENNESSEE — A Tennessee Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Plus unit trooper stopped a commercial vehicle that was literally riding on its rims after multiple tires on the same axle blew out and shredded, creating what THP called an extremely dangerous situation for the driver and everyone else on the road.
The inspection also turned up hours-of-service and logbook violations on top of the tire violations.
“A couple of tires on the same axle were blown, shredded, and being operated while riding on the rims, creating an extremely dangerous situation for the driver and everyone sharing the roadway,” THP said.
