TENNESSEE — A Tennessee Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Plus East Region trooper stopped a commercial vehicle for inoperative taillights and uncovered multiple serious safety violations that THP said created significant risks for everyone on the roadway.
THP shared details of the stop on May 12. The inspection following the taillight stop revealed the following violations:
• Inoperative Identification Lamps
• Steer Tires With Less Than 2/32-Inch Tread Depth
• Missing Fuel Cap
• Driver Operating Without a Valid Driver’s License
“These violations create significant safety risks for everyone on the roadway. Proper vehicle maintenance and driver compliance are critical to keeping our highways safe. Safety is not optional — it is the responsibility of every driver and carrier,” THP said.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
