Nashville Truck Driver Found Dead Inside Tractor-Trailer Parked on I-65 Shoulder; Company Had Requested Welfare Check After Truck Had Been Stationary for Some Time

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — A truck driver was found deceased inside a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 65 in Nashville Thursday morning after the company requested a welfare check on the driver.

Metro Nashville Police responded to the area near mile marker 87.6 around 9:59 a.m. on July 30. The truck had been stationary along the interstate for some time before the company reached out to check on the driver. The southbound entry ramp near Trinity Lane was closed and the right shoulder was blocked while detectives investigated.

The circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation. No additional details have been released.
