MARSHALL, MICHIGAN — A commercial vehicle traffic stop on Interstate 69 near Marshall on Thursday afternoon led to the seizure of 174 handguns with destroyed serial numbers and approximately 368 pounds of suspected heroin hidden inside a semi-truck.
Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officers conducted the stop around 2 p.m. on September 24. During the investigation officers discovered 92 bundles containing approximately 167 kilograms of suspected heroin along with the defaced firearms. The driver was arrested on drug and weapons-related charges. The investigation is ongoing.
