CROTHERSVILLE, INDIANA — A four-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 65 near the 40-mile marker in Jackson County Saturday afternoon involved two semi-trucks and left a passenger vehicle driver with serious injuries, closing all southbound lanes for more than two hours.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on October 17 between Seymour and Crothersville. A preliminary investigation determined that one of the commercial vehicles failed to slow for slowed traffic in a construction zone, triggering the crash. Four vehicles were involved in total, including the two semis.

All southbound lanes were initially closed. Northbound lanes eventually reopened while southbound remained closed. All lanes fully reopened around 6:30 p.m. according to INDOT.
