CLINTON, MISSISSIPPI — A truck driver was hurt Thursday when his rig blew a steer tire on westbound Interstate 20 near Morrison Heights Baptist Church and overturned, breaking the trailer open and spilling its load of raw chicken onto the grassy shoulder.
The crash happened October 22, according to the City of Clinton. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital by AMR with non-life-threatening injuries. Westbound I-20 was reduced to one lane while crews cleared the overturned truck and its cargo. Motorists were told to expect delays and give emergency crews room to work.
The city couldn’t resist a little humor: “We’d make a chicken joke, but we’re afraid we’d just be winging it!”
