UPSON COUNTY, GEORGIA — A Freightliner tractor-trailer hauling lumber overturned Tuesday morning on Sharp Road off Highway 36 east of Thomaston, with the trailer rolling into a roadside ditch while the cab remained on the narrow road — right next to a “No Thru Trucks” sign.

Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore said Sharp Road is closed but Highway 36 — also known as Barnesville Highway — remains open. First responders were on scene awaiting personnel to clear the scene and recover the truck. Photos shared by the sheriff show the trailer on its side in the ditch with lumber visible from the load, while the Freightliner cab sits upright on the narrow road directly beside the no thru trucks sign.
