IOWA — The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit is sharing photos from recent inspections as a reminder to truck drivers to conduct thorough pre-trip inspections before starting the workday — after troopers uncovered damaged and dangerous equipment during recent stops.

Among the violations shown was an inoperative brake, with heavy rust on the braking surface serving as one of the visible indicators of the defect.

“Here are some photos from recent inspections. Please ensure a thorough inspection is conducted before the start of each workday. Additionally, doing random checks throughout the day is always a good practice,” ISP said.
