Tractor-Trailer Carrying Drill Stem Pipes Rolls Over at Louisiana Intersection — Driver Airlifted in Serious Condition, Speed Suspected

KINDER, LOUISIANA — A tractor-trailer carrying drill stem pipes rolled over at the intersection of US Highway 190 and Louisiana Highway 383 in Kinder Friday night, leaving the driver trapped and seriously injured.

Kinder Police Department was notified of the crash at 9:56 p.m. Officers arrived to find the overturned rig with the driver trapped inside. Allen Parish Fire District 4 extricated the driver, who was then airlifted by AirEvac to a hospital in Lafayette in serious condition.

Traffic was reduced to one lane while crews worked the scene. All lanes were expected to reopen within a couple of hours. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation.
