MAGNA, UTAH — A semi-truck rolled onto its side on Interstate 80 between Salt Lake and Tooele counties early Wednesday morning, prompting a full closure of westbound lanes and partial delays in the eastbound direction.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Zach Randall said the crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near mile marker 104. Only minor injuries were reported. Details on how the crash occurred were not immediately available.
Westbound traffic was diverted off I-80 onto SR-202 at mile marker 104, with drivers able to use SR-201 to return to I-80 at mile marker 101. Eastbound traffic continued on I-80 but faced potential delays, with SR-201 to SR-202 available as an alternate route. Just after 7 a.m. Lt. Randall said emergency responders expected the interstate to reopen shortly.
