HANCOCK COUNTY, INDIANA — A crash involving three semi-trucks on westbound Interstate 70 near Greenfield on Saturday morning split one trailer open and spilled its contents onto the roadway, backing up traffic for hours before the scene was cleared just after noon.
The Hancock County 911 Center reported the crash before 9:30 a.m. on September 26. Two wreckers were called in to help clear the scene. Photos from the 911 Center showed one trailer split open with cargo spilled across the road and a backup stretching to the horizon.
The crash was fully cleared and the road fully reopened around 12:35 p.m., though the 911 Center warned that residual backups would take additional time to clear. No information on injuries or the cause of the crash has been released.
