MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA — A large sinkhole opened at a Miami-Dade County intersection Wednesday afternoon, swallowing part of the roadway and leaving a tractor-trailer and a white sedan stuck.
The sinkhole formed at the intersection of Northwest 79th Street and Northwest 30th Avenue.
Tractor-Trailer Sinks Into Roadway
Video from the scene showed a large tractor-trailer sunken into the roadway, with a hole and water visible underneath the trailer.
Sky 10 video also showed the front tire of a white sedan sunken into the road near the tractor-trailer.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Roads Closed Near Intersection
Several roads leading to the intersection were closed as crews responded to the collapse.
County workers and deputies were at the scene, but officials had not yet released additional information about what caused the roadway to give way.
Green Line Service Impacted
The sinkhole also disrupted transit service in the area.
Green Line trains were stopped in both directions at Earlington Heights Station because of the roadway collapse.
The scene remained active Wednesday afternoon while crews worked to assess the damage and determine what caused the sinkhole.
