SAN ONOFRE, CALIFORNIA — CHP San Onofre Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility shared footage of a steering tire blowout that occurred near the facility this week, using the incident as a reminder to drivers about the dangers of tire failures and the importance of pre-trip inspections.
The driver handled the situation safely. CHP noted that steering tire blowouts are extremely dangerous and urged all commercial drivers to check their tires before every trip and address any defects immediately.
“Your life and the lives of others may depend on it,” CHP said.
