WILLOWS, CALIFORNIA — A northbound truck driver on Interstate 5 between CR-57 and SR-162 near Willows decided to attempt a U-turn through the center median on September 1 to reverse direction — and ended up disabled across all southbound lanes after rupturing an air line during the maneuver.

CHP Willows Area said the truck became completely disabled across the southbound lanes, bringing traffic to a full stop. Officers arrived and facilitated a temporary repair to the air line, allowing the truck to be moved out of the lanes and traffic to clear.

No information on the driver’s identity or any citations issued was released.

“Always make safe decisions behind the wheel,” CHP said.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
