GOODYEAR, ARIZONA — A truck driver was found dead inside his trailer at the Chewy fulfillment center along South 143rd Avenue in Goodyear on Friday morning after warehouse staff contacted police when they were unable to reach the driver of a truck parked on the property.

Goodyear Police responded to the welfare check at approximately 8:15 a.m. on August 7. Goodyear Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Investigators found no obvious signs of foul play.

A warehouse employee told local media the driver had finished his shift approximately 20 hours before he was found, and had gone unnoticed inside the trailer during that time.

Goodyear Police have not publicly identified the deceased or confirmed his employment status. The investigation remains ongoing pending the medical examiner’s determination of the cause of death.
