LA PORTE, TEXAS — A commercial vehicle was taken off the road during a recent inspection after officers identified critical safety issues affecting braking performance, along with a driver licensing violation.

According to the La Porte Police Department, inspectors discovered a broken weld on the brake chamber mounting bracket, a defect that directly impacts the truck’s braking capability and overall safety on the roadway.

Vehicle Placed Out of Service

In addition to the brake issue, officers reported multiple mechanical violations during the inspection. Authorities also determined the driver was operating the commercial vehicle using a Honduran driver’s license, which was not valid for commercial operation in this case.

Due to the severity of the violations, the truck was placed out of service and required towing from the scene.

Officials said enforcement efforts like these are part of ongoing inspections aimed at removing unsafe equipment and unqualified drivers from the road.
