Wyoming Deputies Issue Multiple Citations to Semi Truck Driver for Being Nearly 17,000 Pounds Overweight With No Registration, No Authorization, and Multiple Other Violations

LARAMIE COUNTY, WYOMING — A semi truck driver picked up multiple citations Monday morning in Laramie County. Deputies stopped him and found a long list of violations. The biggest: nearly 17,000 pounds over the legal weight limit.

Deputies made the stop on the morning of March 24, 2026. The driver faced the following citations:

• 16,940 pounds overweight
• No Wyoming registration
• No motor carrier authorization
• No International Fuel Tax Agreement
• Various other equipment violations

“Today, this commercial driver decided it was a good day to operate illegally here in Laramie County,” LCSO said.

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is actively targeting dangerous drivers and non-compliant equipment on county roads.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
