HANOVER COUNTY, VIRGINIA — A King William County man has been arrested after deputies said he stole two dozen commercial tractor-trailer tires worth about $10,000 from Hanover County.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded on Aug. 4, 2026, to the 10100 block of Lewistown Road for a reported larceny.
24 Commercial Tires Reported Stolen
After an investigation, deputies determined that 24 commercial tractor-trailer tires had been stolen on Aug. 2.
The tires were valued at approximately $10,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators identified a suspect and obtained warrants for grand larceny and intent to sell stolen property.
Suspect Arrested Two Weeks Later
On Aug. 17, investigators located the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jude Wiltshire of King William.
Wiltshire was taken into custody and transported to Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Authorities said warrants were obtained and served for grand larceny, stolen property with intent to sell, and carrying a concealed firearm.
Sheriff Says Deputies Worked Quickly
Hanover County Sheriff Gregory W. Six said investigators moved quickly to identify and arrest the suspect.
“If you come to Hanover County and steal from our businesses or our residents, you should expect us to come looking for you,” Six said. “I’m extremely proud of our deputies and investigators who worked quickly on this case, and within two weeks, the individual responsible was identified and arrested.”
