HARDWICK, VERMONT — A tractor-trailer that tried to turn around on South Main Street near Alpine Heights became stuck and blocked both lanes of traffic on Thursday evening, November 5, and traffic was diverted onto side streets for about two hours.

Hardwick Fire Department was called at 5:23 p.m. to help Hardwick Police with traffic control. Engine 2 responded and found the truck stuck across both lanes. Caledonia Wrecker Service helped remove it, and the road reopened after roughly two hours.
The fire department thanked drivers who used the detour. “Your patience and courtesy is much appreciated by all in these sometimes inconvenient situations.”
The post did not say whether the driver was cited or why the truck was turning around.
