SALT LAKE COUNTY, UTAH — A semi-truck and trailer loaded with cattle rolled over on the on-ramp from East Canyon to westbound Interstate 80 in Parleys Canyon Tuesday evening, closing the ramp for several hours while crews worked to unload the cattle and right the truck.

Utah Highway Patrol said the semi appeared to be coming off the westbound lanes of I-80 when it lost control, crossed the roadway, and rolled. The truck came to rest on the outside shoulder while the rear of the trailer slid down an embankment. A crane was later brought in to pull the truck and trailer upright after the cattle were unloaded.

The driver was not injured. It was not immediately known whether any of the cattle were killed or injured in the rollover.
