NANUET, NEW YORK — A truck struck the Route 304 overpass on westbound Route 59 in Nanuet Friday morning, sending the driver to a nearby hospital and prompting a New York State Department of Transportation bridge inspection that closed lanes in the area for several hours.
The incident was reported at 11:50 a.m. on September 11. Nanuet EMS transported the driver to a hospital. The extent of his injuries was not immediately available. NYSDOT began its bridge inspection just before 3 p.m. During the inspection the left lane of westbound Route 59 and the right lane of northbound Route 304 were closed. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes and expect delays for approximately two hours.
