New York 18-Wheeler Driver Arrested in Texas After Citizen Reports Reckless Driving — BAC Found Four Times the Legal Limit for Commercial Drivers

LAVACA COUNTY, TEXAS — An 18-wheeler driver from New York was arrested for driving while intoxicated on April 22 after a concerned citizen reported reckless driving on US Highway 77 South.

Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report and observed dangerous driving behavior before stopping the truck. The driver, identified as Ravinder Singh of New York, was found to have a blood alcohol concentration four times the legal limit for commercial motor vehicle operators.

The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office commended the citizen whose tip helped stop what could have been a tragic crash. The department reminded the public to drink responsibly, plan for safe transportation, and report dangerous driving behavior to law enforcement.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
