LOUISA, KENTUCKY — A maintenance worker was killed at a gas station along US-23 in Louisa early Monday morning after a semi-truck pulling away from the fuel pumps struck him without the driver realizing it, according to Louisa Police Department.

A gas station worker noticed a body around 5:50 a.m. and called police. A customer came across the body shortly after and called 911 again. Police Chief Steven Wilburn said the maintenance worker had been checking diesel containers in the rain when the semi-truck pulled out after pumping gas and struck him. The worker died at the scene.
