Dump Truck Strikes School Bus Carrying Eight Students on Highway 157 in Bossier Parish — All Students Suffer Minor Injuries

BOSSIER PARISH, LOUISIANA — A dump truck pulled onto Highway 157 from Sligo Road Friday morning and struck the side of a school bus carrying eight students, causing considerable damage to the bus and minor injuries to the students.

The crash happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Bus 164 was transporting five Haughton Middle School students and three Haughton High School students to school when the dump truck hit the side of the vehicle.

All eight students suffered bumps and bruises. Injuries were considered minor and all students were released to their guardians. Bossier Parish Schools spokesperson Sonja Bailes said it is too early to determine whether the bus is permanently out of commission.
