GOLDEN GATE AREA, CALIFORNIA — A pickup truck hauling a trailer loaded with uncovered rocks caught the attention of CHP’s Commercial Enforcement Unit in the Golden Gate area, and a closer look revealed a trailer that was overloaded, had defective safety chains, no emergency breakaway cable, expired registration, no license plate, and a gap large enough to let rocks fall directly onto the roadway.

The stop began when troopers spotted the uncovered load and the missing trailer plate. The full inspection uncovered the rest.

“Whether you haul for work or just have a weekend project, secure your load and make sure your equipment is safe before hitting the road. Your fellow motorists (and their windshields) will appreciate it,” CHP said.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
