GOLD RUN, CALIFORNIA — CHP’s Gold Run Division stopped a fully loaded truck carrying more than 30,000 pounds of beef on October 18 after officers clocked it at 81 mph while passing other commercial trucks, 26 mph over California’s 55 mph limit for trucks with three or more axles.

In California, a commercial driver can be cited for a misdemeanor for exceeding the 55 mph truck limit by more than 15 mph.

“Holy Cow!!!! We just stopped a fully loaded truck carrying over 30k pounds of beef traveling at 81 MPH and passing other commercial trucks,” CHP said. “Slow the Rump Roast down.”

CHP did not say what citations were issued or release the driver’s name.
