MONTEREY COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — A CHP trooper in Monterey County arrested a semi-truck driver for driving under the influence on September 18 after finding boxes and cans of Coors beer inside the cab of the truck. The rig was towed from the scene.
CHP Monterey Division used the arrest to remind commercial drivers of the elevated danger of impaired driving behind the wheel of a large truck.
“Driving under the influence is dangerous in any vehicle, but when you’re behind the wheel of a big rig weighing thousands of pounds, the risks are even greater. A moment of impaired judgment can have devastating consequences for everyone sharing the road. Don’t drive impaired. Make the right choice before you get behind the wheel,” CHP said.
