SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA — CHP Santa Barbara cited a semi-truck driver for speeding after clocking the commercial vehicle traveling 71 mph northbound on US-101 near Bailard — 16 mph over California’s 55 mph limit for commercial vehicles.

“Speeding, especially while operating a commercial vehicle, increases stopping distance and the potential for serious collisions,” CHP said. “Slow down, obey the posted speed limit, and drive for the conditions.”
