Beer Truck and Garbage Truck Collide in Wisconsin — 23-Year-Old Driver Trapped for an Hour Before Being Airlifted to Hospital With Serious Injuries

MUSKEGO, WISCONSIN — A 23-year-old garbage truck driver was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries Thursday afternoon after a collision between a beer truck and a garbage truck on Cape Road at Ryan Road, with rescuers spending nearly an hour extricating the driver from the wreckage.

Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Cape Road when the crash occurred. First responders contacted Flight for Life after arriving on scene. It took approximately one hour to remove the garbage truck driver from the vehicle. He was flown to Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries. The 60-year-old beer truck driver was not injured.

Cape Road closed for several hours while Muskego Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol investigated. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
