WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA — Cargo that was not properly secured went through the cab of a pickup truck and struck its windshield during a crash on the I-405 freeway in the Westminster area on Wednesday morning, November 4, the California Highway Patrol said. Only minor injuries were reported.

CHP responded to a reported crash involving pickup trucks. Troopers did not say how the crash happened, but they shared photos showing the cargo that speared through the cabin area of one pickup.
CHP said the crash “serves as an important reminder of the dangers of improperly secured cargo. Unsafe and unsecured loads can shift, fall, and create dangerous roadway conditions that put everyone at risk.”

Troopers asked drivers to make sure their load is “properly secured, tied down, not overloaded, and safe for travel.” CHP added: “A few extra minutes of preparation can prevent a serious crash and save lives.”
CHP did not say what vehicle the cargo came from or whether any citations were issued.
