FLORISTON, CALIFORNIA — A big rig jackknifed on westbound Interstate 80 just west of Floriston as the first rain of the season arrived, and the driver walked away with only minor injuries, CHP Truckee said.

The crash was posted at 9:00 a.m. on October 22. All lanes remained open and traffic was not being affected.

CHP used the crash as the season’s first reminder to slow down. “When the rain starts falling, slow it down! Wet roads mean less traction, longer stopping distances, and very little room for error. Take your time, slow down, and get there safely!”
