Arizona Woman Killed After Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Her Car Stopped in Lane on I-10; Reason Car Was Stopped Unknown

TONOPAH, ARIZONA — A woman died after a tractor-trailer slammed into the back of her car, which was stopped in the outside lane of eastbound Interstate 10 near 355th Avenue in Tonopah for an unknown reason on the night of October 7.

Arizona Department of Public Safety said first responders were called around 11 p.m. The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital where she later died. She has not been publicly identified pending notification of her family. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

The reason the car was stopped in the lane has not been determined. The crash remains under investigation.
