AUBURN, CALIFORNIA — CHP Auburn officers cited a commercial vehicle driver for traveling 80 mph — 25 mph over California’s 55 mph maximum speed limit for big rigs — as part of the department’s ongoing focus on commercial vehicle speed enforcement.

“Large trucks require more time and distance to stop, and excessive speed reduces the margin for error,” CHP said. “Slow down. Obey the posted limit. Share the road safely.”
