SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA — A semi-truck hauling 50,000 pounds of packaged meat struck another vehicle, jackknifed, and caught fire Sunday morning on the connector ramp from southbound Business 80 to westbound US-50, forcing a multi-hour closure of the interchange in downtown Sacramento.

CHP’s South Sacramento division said the semi-truck struck a vehicle before jackknifing across the ramp and catching fire. At one point, part of the big-rig hung over the railing. The closure also took out the T Street on-ramp to southbound Business 80. All individuals involved were accounted for. No injuries were reported.
Roads have since reopened, according to CHP.
