LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — A 52-year-old Las Vegas man died after darting into the path of a bobtail semi-truck on West Lake Mead Boulevard east of Michael Way on Sunday morning, September 27. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said the crash occurred around 11:26 a.m. A 2025 International LT62F semi without a trailer was traveling eastbound when the man left the sidewalk and entered the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk for unknown reasons. The truck struck him. He was transported to UMC where he died.
The 54-year-old female truck driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Witnesses and surveillance footage captured the incident, but investigators found no obvious reason why the man entered the roadway.
