BIG BEND, WISCONSIN — A three-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles in an active construction zone on southbound Interstate 43 at State Highway 164 in Waukesha County closed all lanes for approximately two hours Friday evening and sent one person to the hospital.
Big Bend Fire Department responded around 5:15 p.m. on September 25. Crews arrived to find all lanes blocked. One person was trapped and required mechanical extrication before being transported to a local hospital. Two other people involved were evaluated and released at the scene.
The highway remained closed for approximately two hours while crews extricated the trapped person, towed vehicles, and cleared debris. The road has since reopened. The cause of the crash has not been released.
Big Bend Police Department, Waukesha Sheriff’s Department, AM Towing, and Wisconsin DOT assisted at the scene.
