TENNESSEE — A Kenyan national with a Texas commercial driver’s license was arrested by ICE following a tractor-trailer crash in Tennessee after investigators determined he was instructing a CDL trainee at the time of the crash.
ICE announced the arrest of Eric Maloba on September 23 through a 287(g) Task Force partner — a program that allows participating state and local law enforcement agencies to perform certain immigration enforcement functions in cooperation with federal authorities. Maloba remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
ICE did not release details about the crash, any injuries, or where in Tennessee it occurred.
