BENNINGTON, NEBRASKA — Two people were killed Saturday morning after a sedan ran a stop sign in Douglas County and was struck by a southbound semi-truck at the intersection of 204th Street and Bennington Road.
The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. The sedan was traveling eastbound on Bennington Road when it failed to stop and was hit by the semi traveling southbound on 204th Street.
The driver, Caitlyn Colter, 25, of Blair, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Cameron Colter, 20, of Council Bluffs, was transported to UNMC with extremely critical injuries and later died. The truck driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
