NEW YORK — Federal and state agencies conducted a targeted commercial vehicle safety enforcement operation along the I-81 corridor in New York, resulting in 43 combined out-of-service orders from 363 inspections.

FMCSA partnered with the New York State Department of Transportation and New York State Police for the operation. Results included 363 commercial vehicles inspected, 23 drivers placed out of service, and 20 vehicles placed out of service.

The I-81 corridor has been a focus of joint enforcement activity this summer, with FMCSA also partnering with state authorities in Maryland and Virginia for similar operations along the same route.

“Every unsafe driver or vehicle identified and removed from service is one less risk to the commercial motor vehicle industry and everyone traveling on American roads,” FMCSA said.
