Tractor-Trailer Hauling Paper Products Overturns in Three-Vehicle Crash Near I-81 in Pennsylvania; Multiple People From Both Passenger Vehicles Injured

SOUTH MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA — A tractor-trailer hauling paper products overturned in a three-vehicle crash near Interstate 81 at Exit 44 in South Middleton Township Thursday morning, injuring multiple people from both passenger vehicles involved and closing Allen Road/Route 465 in both directions for several hours.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Allen Road/Route 465 near the I-81 southbound exit. Multiple people were transported by ambulance from both passenger vehicles. The extent of their injuries was not released. The I-81 southbound ramp at Exit 44 was also closed during the response.

Crews worked to upright and remove the overturned tractor-trailer from the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
