DAWSON COUNTY, NEBRASKA — A California truck driver was arrested near Overton after Nebraska State Patrol investigators found approximately $1.4 million in stolen data servers inside his semitrailer at a Cenex truck stop on September 25 following a tip from a cargo theft investigation unit.

Troopers contacted the driver of a 2018 Freightliner at the truck stop after receiving information the vehicle may be carrying stolen cargo. The driver was identified as Jaibir A. Singh, 22, of Elk Grove, California. Shipping documents indicated the cargo had been picked up in Libertyville, Illinois, and was destined for Sterling, Virginia. Information from a cargo theft investigation unit linked the truck and trailer to stolen data servers. A search warrant was obtained and executed, and troopers confirmed the cargo consisted of stolen data servers valued at approximately $1.4 million.

Singh was arrested and booked into the Dawson County Jail. He was arraigned on felony theft and driving a commercial motor vehicle without obtaining a CDL. He has since been released after posting 10% of a $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 26 in Dawson County Court.
